  • I am wife, and mother of 4 children.
I started attending the births of friends in 1998, and then realised that I loved being with families during child birth, as well as helping them with breastfeeding. I really enjoyed helping them get into positions that made their experience better. I am a CAPPA trained Labour Doula, Lactation Educator and Counselor. I have been teaching the art of baby wearing since 1997.
I have taken several short courses on herbs and homeopathy, as well as massage reflexology and other techniques that offer comfort measures. I am able to work with both obstetricians and midwives
I am also Breastfeeding Counselor, and Childbirth Educator. My services are available to families in the greater Windsor Essex County area. (I will travel to Amhurstburg and Leamington.)

    Diane Pepin CLD Windsor,Ontario

1998 Baby carrier manufacturer. I became a labour doula, and lactation educator/ counselor and co-founded the Windsor and Essex County Breastfeeding Coalition. I started weekly babywearing classes. I did workshops in stores, and in Ontario early years centers where I promoted babywearing and helped many women to properly use a baby carrier.

1999 I started my lactation educator certification. I also started a support group to focus on babywearing and breastfeeding, and on overcoming challenges when you have a physical disability, or when baby has a physical disability. I had several NICU nurses begin wearing babies that were from moms that different dependencies, and from babies that had downs syndrome and heart surgery. I continued with my breastfeeding courses and also started to take some online courses on herbs and their uses.I began making healing cream and different tinctures with a focus on women's health.

2000 I became friends with a woman that had a spinal cord injury, and together we spent time learning how to use a baby carrier with her limitations, and I started to teach more women that had MS and Fibromialgia how to safely use a carrier. I continued to hold year round weekly babywearing drop in time. Anyone could come and we would trouble shoot issues they had. By the end of the year I had certified as a Lactation Educator through CAPPA. I took a herbal course with a local nursery. The focus was on herbs, tincturing and making infusions for health. I took a weekend course on Post Partum Doula and started to learn how to be a Child Birth Educator through CAPPA

2001-2005 I continued working with various women with spinal cord injury , as well as holding weekly babywearing workshops and drop in times. At this time I had several women with children that had aspersers and autism coming to the local babywearing workshops. I started a local support group connected with the WIndsor Essex Breastfeeding Coalition. I also began attending seminars, conferences and workshops on breastfeeding and maternal health.

2005-2007 I became CAPPA Doula( Certified) I am a Lactation Educator, Childbirth Educator and a Post Partum Doula (no longer certified byCAPPA) I continue to attend seminars and workshops and conferences on breastfeeding and babywearing. I enjoyed teaching workshops that focus on women with spinal cord injuries or physical limitations. Several of the women I have met along the way have presented me with their unique situation with physical disabilities and we have worked together to find a babywearing solution so that they could maintain a level of freedom and activity.

2007-2011 Teaching monthly baby wearing classes at 3 stores in my area, As well as teaching classes at Ontario Early years centers, and the Aboriginal Women's Health Center. These are drop in centers for women that need a break, and support. Still maintain my CAPPA certification for Labour Doula. Teach more in depth babywearing classes.

2011-2012 Focusing on teaching store staff how to properly use babycarriers, and teach them how to teach their clients. Show them how to troubleshoot, and gently tell someone they can do it a different way that may be more comfortable to them and baby. Teaching monthly baby wearing classes teaching people the words to use to help and not offend people while trying to show them how to safely carry their baby in a carrier. I took a course through Canadian Babywearing School. Specializing in more focused Babywearing classes and working on changing the harsh language that is commonly used to describe different carriers. Educating people that it doesn't matter what carrier is used, it is how you use it. Maintaining CAPPA Doula Certification.
